The Future of Practical Nursing Education

The Florida Center for Nursing (FCN) collaborated with the Association of Practical Nurse Educators of Florida (APNEF) to present the 2025 annual conference “Cultivating Competence: The Future of Practical Nursing Education.” 

FCN and APNEF designed this two-day professional development conference to enhance the knowledge, skills, and instructional practices of practical nursing educators across Florida.

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide examples of evidence-based teaching in practical nursing (PN) education. 
  • Outline continuing education opportunities that strengthen PN educator skills and confidence.
  • Recognize the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing among PN educators statewide. 
  • Correlate PN educator training with workforce needs and emerging trends. 

Association of Practical Nurse Educators of Florida

The Association of Practical Nurse Educators of Florida (APNEF) is a statewide organization of registered nurses who teach in practical nursing programs and others interested in practical nursing education. APNEF is a non-profit professional organization whose purpose is to improve the quality of practical nursing education in the State of Florida. Other functions of APNEF include networking with instructors and updating members on issues in the State of Florida affecting nurses and nursing education.
